Communicate Ideas
I participated in a Christmas gift distribution for children. During the event many people volunteered. we were expected to wrap about 1000 gift for children and also arrange then in order in the shorted amount possible.we had to learn how to work with one another and help out in the best possible way. We had many things that needed to be done, we had to wrap many gifts , arrange them in age order put them in bags and label them.We divided in groups and everyone had a part. some people grabbed the gifts and arranged then in age order and gender other people wrapped the gifts and then someone else labeled them (girl or boy and age group), then someone else put them in bags and carried them to the storage room. everyone had to communicate with one another to get the job done and make sure everything was done correctly. It took us a total of about 3 long nights to wrap every single gift and label them. We had to work really hard as well as in the event. During the event everyone helped as the could by carrying the bags of gifts and arranging them on different tables later we were assign a role and were we would be located and we took out spots. we signaled each other if we ever needed something. The event turned out to run smoothly with no problems however we did panic sometimes but everything turned out to be great, it was an awesome event and a great way of learning to work together and communicate ideas.
Camping trip!!!!!
One of the groups I participate in had a camping trip during spring break. I went camping with the Harris county explorers program. During the camping event we had to communicate with one another and also collaborate effectively. We had to talk to one another to set up the tents and also bring all the things that were necessary. For the camping event everyone had a partner and you could not leave your partner out of sight at any time. When we had to bring the stuff out of the car we had to face many obstacles in our way for example the horrible mud that many of my fellow classmates fell in and also got stuck. Post 40 and post 44 did the camping together and not many people knew each other, we had to meet new people and learn how to communicate with them to be able to help each other. we also had a nigh watch and everyone had to be part of it. we also had many activities that made everyone communicate and collaborate; for example we were separated in teams and every team had to create a flag that would describe them and after creating the flags we had to use our minds and communicate with our teams to come up with many plans to steal other groups flags and it got pretty intense. Many collaboration and communication was needed in this camping trip to be able to succeed.
